Learning Center

What is the Learning Center?
The purpose of the Learning Center is to provide a variety of services designed to assist students with course work and to aid community members as needed. The Center administers the COMPASS assessment for placement, and the coordinator serves as a proctor for traditional and on-line courses. The Learning Center serves as a resource study area with a computer lab, Internet access, and many other tutorial aids. The Learning Center maintains a walk in/open door policy to all students enrolled at Hopkinsville Community College and to community members in need of assistance.

What are Learning Center benefits?

  • Computer and Software
    36 computers using word processing, database and spreadsheet software are available for student and community use. Each computer also includes math and reading tutorials, CD-ROM usage, and Internet access.
  • Tutorial Assistance
    Tutorial services are available in computer, math, writing, reading, study skills, and other related areas.
  • Assessment Testing
    COMPASS is a tool to assist academic advisors in determining studentsí placement in math, reading, and writing. CHOICES is available to persons seeking vocational guidance.

Standard Hours:

(During Semester) 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m Monday - Thursday

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m Friday; Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 12 a.m.
